Southern Norway
Your port of arrival is Kristiansand and then it's about an hours drive to a wide choice of cottage venues in the Mandal Region.
Avik is our principle centre but this is just one of many little hamlets with cottages and apartments close to the harbour/sea front. We recommend this area for clients on a budget and for family fishing. The quality of fishing here is nowhere like the mid and north. This area is about the variety of species, good shore fishing and reasonable boat fishing. Yes, one or two twenty and thirty pound cod are landed each year but that is the exception not the norm. Here you will expect to catch fish in the 2 to 8 pound range, cod, coalies, pollack, mackerel, flatties etc.
Easy to reach from Newcastle on the DFDS cruise ferry crossing, great value and nice scenery. Good action, but not a big-fish centre.
